Peach tree embroidery

July 27, 2023

I got an embroidery kit for an old Nordiska apple tree by Ingegerd Hyltén-Cavallius from Studio Flax and ended up modifying it to make it a peach tree because I decided to put the finished project up in my powder room and can't resist a terrible pun:

A peach tree is embroidered on a deep forest green linen background: the trunk and branches are made in a silver stem stitch that goes in lots of different directions to echo the feel of bark, there are simple leaves outlined in chain stitch in various greens and blues, some of the leaves are filled in satin stitch in complementary greens or blues, and there are peaches in all sorts of pinks, oranges, and reds. The peaches are also outlined in chain stitch, and they are all filled in colorblocked satin stiches in those pinks, oranges, and reds.
