Denim coffee pitcher, 2024

April 20, 2024

Blue jeans / well worn leather / rows of cornflowers along a dirt path
Medium brown stoneware clay with white grog, slab-built, denim satin glaze

This medium brown stoneware pitcher has a squat, geometric form with a hexagonal base and opening.

The form flares out towards the bottom and each of the six sides is made of two trapezoids - a larger one on top and a smaller on the bottom.

The denim satin glaze is applied in a tape-resist maze-like pattern that follows the lines of the form.
The glaze is a deep navy blue with lighter blue flecks suspended above.
The maze-like glaze pattern alternates between panels with horizontal and vertical openings around the pitcher.
The inside of the pitcher is glazed solidly in the denim satin.
