Denim hexagonal teacups, 2024

June 28, 2024

Blue jeans / well worn leather / rows of cornflowers along a dirt path
Medium brown stoneware clay with white grog, slab-built, denim satin glaze

These medium brown stoneware teacups have hexagonal bottoms and openings and six straight sides.

The denim satin glaze is applied in a tape-resist maze-like pattern that follows the lines of the form. The glaze is a deep navy blue with lighter blue flecks suspended above.
Their hexagonal shape allows them to tightly pack together.

The medium brown stoneware body has flecks of white grog throughout.

The maze-like glaze pattern alternates between panels with horizontal and vertical openings around the cup.
They are solidly glazed inside with the denim satin glaze.
The teacups are signed and dated with stamps on the bottom. Satin denim glaze rests inside the stamps.
