Lilypad mini quilt

July 5, 2026

An olive green linen hand quilted, hand embroidered lilypad: the main veins are embroidered in a darker green satin stitch and other veins are quilted in an olive thread that nearly matches the olive green linen fabric.

While on a short road trip and then recovering from surgery, I hand quilted and hand embroidered a linen lilypad quilt.

The darker green satin stitches dome slightly to create a texture above the quilt, while the smaller veins recess into the quilted sections.
The edges are finished in bias tape, but instead of having a very defined edge without quilting, I continued the quilting vein pattern over the bias tape as well. I also stitched in my name and the year 2026 along the bias tape edge in this section.

And yes, I did make this little quilt for my Frinos plush from Hades II to have a nice place to rest.

Frinos sits comfortably on the lilypad.
